Somerton House Hotel – Gents Toilets
A late Victorian mansion, Somerton House Hotel bears the distinctive red sandstone of many of the buildings within the town of Lockerbie. Somerton House had already created a truly funky interior for their Ladies Toilets and wanted something equally extraordinary for the Gents. Brian Smith, was interested in our 3-D Designs and wanted the Gents toilets to have a sense of drama and adventure. We used imagery of concrete, as a floor surface, which created an industrial feel.
Weeds, insects and muddy footprints combined with different tools give the impression of an abandoned space. A lift shaft is central to the design, creating a real sense of anticipation – as if you are bout to fall into this huge gaping hole. We hope Brian’s guests haven’t had one too many when using these loo’s!

The floor is a great success, we get no end of comments about it!
