‘Selfie’ Photo Floor for New Extension
The challenge here was to incorporate as many of the important photos as possible, without covering any of the main focus of each image. We asked Nick to order the photos with folders containing the most important, to the least. The photos were then carefully arranged although the design makes them look scattered. We varied the size and orientation of each image to create the composition and then placed a drop shadow under each one to give the design some depth.

1. How does it feel to have family photos on permanent display?
We love it! This is a celebration of family and close friends. A daily reminder of golden moments. Golden moments with our loved ones are always there, with us throughout the day.
2. How did you find the design process and what do you think of the quality of the floor?
The design process was brilliant. Emily really went with our vision and built on it. Her care and attention to detail was wonderful. This was a challenging project but Emily totally worked her socks off to help us achieve what we wanted and a stunning result.
3. What has been the feedback from people that have seen your room?
Everyone who has seen our new kitchen has said that the floor is definitely the wow factor. So many people have said that they have never seen anything like it before and they love it!
4. How do you think the floor has impacted on the design of the room?
Although the floor is stunning, because it’s on the ground it allowed us to do lots of other fun design in the walls and throughout the rest of the room. So it’s a stand out design feature but it is not overly dominant.
