Amanda also wanted the flooring to be educational, so we incorporated lots of different mini-beasts for the children to search out. The idea of interaction with our designs is especially important in education, and so we also created a series of stepping stones made from tree stumps, which lead the children from one exit to another.

From Amanda Griffiths
I have always wanted an ‘outside’ room we painted clouds on the ceiling and this seemed an idea that could come make the room really feel like its outside
2. What do you think the benefits have been?
The floor has a wow factor as far as parents/visitors/carers are concerned but the main benefit is how the floor sparks the children’s imaginations.
3. How have the kids responded and have you had any feedback from parents?
We had very positive feedback when the floor was first laid and it also went in the local paper and I got positive feedback from other settings.
A short quote from you would also be great?
I really love the way the floor has transformed the room and is one of a kind
